JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE                                 :   RADIOGRAPHER

DEPARTMENT                          :   RADIOLOGY

REPORTS TO                            :   RADIOLOGY MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY      

Provide radiography and imaging services to patients in the hospital and ensure provision of quality and timely radiography and imaging services

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Responsible for preparing the room and equipment for patient examinations

·         Taking x-rays/performing radiological examinations as prescribed by a medical practitioner

·         Assisting the radiologist perform special examinations e.g. barium meals

·         Processing x-ray images, documentation and dispatching.

·         Ensures that examinations are carried out in consistency with the procedure protocols,

·         patient conditions, physical abilities and age requirements

·         Maintaining a radiological register of patients.

·         Provide image intensifier services when required

·         Provide radiographic services in Cathlab

KEY QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

·         Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography from a recognized institution

·         Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

·         Two years work experience as a Radiographer

·         Registration with the relevant body

·         Valid Practicing license from Radiation Protection Body.

·         Strong computer skills

·         Keen on detail with a high degree of accuracy

·         Client service skills

·         Proficiency in computer applications
