JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE : MEDICAL RECORDS OFFICER
DEPARTMENT : CLINICAL SERVICES
REPORTS TO : HEAD OF CLINICAL SERVICES
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for ensuring timely availability of records, registration, editing, filing, coding/indexing, statistics, disposal whilst maintaining confidentiality of patient health information records
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Recording patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
· Collating statistics
· to record illnesses and treatments on patient records using clinical coding
· Booking appointments for patients
· Handle queries from GPs and other healthcare professionals
·
KEY QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Health Records and Information Management or Diploma in Health
· Records and Information and Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
· 6 months work experience.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Membership certificate
· Proficiency in computer applications
