JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE                                 :   HOUSEKEEPER

DEPARTMENT                          :   CLINICAL SERVICES

REPORTS TO                            :   HEAD OF NURSING

JOB SUMMARY      

Ensures a positive overall impression of the Hospital by providing the necessary services of ensuring a clean and comfortable working environment

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Operate housekeeping equipment.

·         Performs daily cleaning of the Hospital & it’s environ as assigned in accordance to the standards and procedures of the hospital.

·         Sets up and organizes all furniture and amenities in the hospital.

·         Determines priorities at shift start and plans for daily activities.

·         Maintains the cleanliness, neatness and organization of the hospital and departmental offices.

·         Checks for items that are not operable and/or in need of repair and reports of such items to the head of facilities management.

·         Transports trash and waste to proper disposal area.

·         Collects all recyclables and transports to proper recycle bins.

·         Follows lost and found procedures as per hospitals laid down policy.

·         Completes reports and any other duties as assigned.

·         Initiates and monitors shift check lists for proper completion of tasks.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

·         High School Certificate or its equivalent

·         1 year experience in similar position

·         Knows all safety, emergency, and accident prevention procedures.

·         Manages and utilizes equipment in a safe manner.

·         Keen attention to safety procedures & practices.

·         Team player
